Today is Autumn’s 13th birthday! We went to the zoo since she adores animals. Thankfully she was well enough to see all the exhibits, but could still use a lot of rest. She got her favorite little toys, as part of her birthday present, while we were at the zoo. We came home and freshened up before heading out for dinner. For dinner we went to the Rainforest CafĂ©. That is the coolest restaurant I’ve ever been to. We had balloons, Hawaiian lei’s, and a volcano for desert.

Did you know only 4 out of 17 types of penguins live in Antarctica

This is Autumn. We went to Wild Water kingdom, a water park. It wasn’t quite as enormous as Noah’s Ark, in Wisconsin Dells, but still lots of fun. My favorite part was the wave pool. I loved standing backwards letting the waves splash up on my back and the thrill of not knowing when they were coming. Some of the slides went so fast that I lost track of where I was. My favorite slide was a big, blue, tube slide that had an unexpected drop in it. It was so hot outside that mom let us get ice-cream cones. When I started to lick it, it slid right off the cone and into my hand. What a sticky mess. After 5 hours of fun, I was exhausted. We then came back to the hotel, got changed, and ate a delicious dinner.
After a long day of FUN

This is Autumn. So, a week from today ( July 2 ) is my 13th birthday, and I am so excited! My grandparents are coming here the day after my birthday and staying for a week! This may sound weird, but all I really want for my birthday is a new tank for my little, quarter sized, baby turtle. His tank isn't even a real tank, it is an old plastic container used to hold packets of pretzles. I think he deserves a real tank. You probably don't know this, but when I find an animal outside like a frog for instance, I try to build a habitat for it out of old recyclables (the pretzle container), and once I'm done with that I sit and observe how it eats, breathes, swims or reacts to different things and trust me you could catch me sitting there for hours, then I usually let it go and catch somthing else to observe. And since my parents said that if I find somone to take care of him for the one and a half months we are in Canada, I can keep him. So I did! and the turtle's name is Pistachio. The hotel we moved into today has a horrible view out my window. It's just a parking lot. My room at the other hotel had a view over the city, and at night you could see all the lights.

We watched fireworks over Lake Ontario last night. At the start of the night we always go to the bathroom so that no one has to go during the firework display. Well there was no toilet paper in the girl’s bathroom so I decided to go into the guy’s bathroom. My dad did not want to wait on me so he decided to go into the girl’s bathroom. My mom took pictures of us coming out of the bathrooms. Thanks mom :b We then walked out to the harbor and found a nice place in the grass to sit. Before the fireworks started everyone stood up and sang Canada’s national anthem, then a barge sounded its horn signaling the start of the fireworks. The fireworks were just as magical and amazing as usual. Today we moved into another Residence Inn. We couldn’t fit everything into our van. When you got into the van you felt like a sardine, there was NO room. Today everyone is celebrating Canada Day, except people at Chrysler. We had to drive all over to find a place we could eat lunch at because EVERYTHING is closed for the day. When Canadians take holiday, they really mean it. When we were driving around, the place looked desolate.

  •      So earlier I stated that their one dollar coin is called a “loonie” and that is because there is a loon on it and their two dollar coin is called a “toonie.” I guess this is because two loonie’s equal a toonie.
                                         Anticipating the joy!

Yesterday the boys went fishing and then we tried to go to several different beaches, but they were all full. Actually some of the people parked illegally knowing they would get ticketed, but of course they didn’t really care about paying for a ticket just as long as they got to go to the beach. The Harnick’s stopped in. They came over around dinner time. We went out to eat at Montana’s steakhouse. Then we came back to the hotel, went swimming, watched a movie and went off to bed. Today we said our farewells to them before heading to church. Today we tried a new church out. All I can say is that I have taken for granted the wonderful preaching of Pastor Flatt and the beautiful sounds of Amy and Patrick Fata. We were late to church because the church had not updated their service times online. We were then escorted to the very front row, in front of EVERYONE. At the end of the sermon we partook in communion. My mom, dad, and I were all freaking out when they said they would be serving wine and bread. First they served the bread and then came the wine. Thankfully it was just juice and not actual wine. Now we are back at the hotel and debating about what we are going to do today since today is Canada’s Independence Day. There have been festival’s going on and there will be gigantic firework display’s over Lake Ontario.
THE BEACH!!!! Okay so on Friday we went to the beach without daddy and there were only two other families there. Apparently you can go on Friday's not Saturday's.
